Frequently asked questions
Do I need a boat licence for water sports or jet skiing in Ibiza?
For organized tours and guided circuits you do not need a licence. On guided jet ski safaris (such as to Es Vedrà or the Margarita Islands), a certified instructor leads the expedition and provides full controls training beforehand. Parasailing, wakeboarding and flyboard sessions also require no licence. A recognized nautical licence is only legally required if you wish to rent a jet ski independently without a guide on open water.
What are the minimum age requirements for jet skiing and water sports?
As a passenger on a jet ski, children can generally join from around 8 years of age (accompanied by an adult and fitted with an approved life jacket). To drive yourself, Spanish regulations require a minimum age of 16 with written parental consent, or 18 independently. For gentler activities such as tandem parasailing, children can often fly from age 6.
Can water toys like Seabobs or e-Foils be delivered directly to a chartered boat?
Yes, this is one of our most popular add-ons for private charter days. When chartering a yacht or motorboat through us, we can arrange for Seabobs, electric e-foils, extra stand-up paddle boards or snorkeling kits to be delivered directly on board in the marina or via tender to your anchorage in Ibiza or Formentera. Let Simon know your preferences on WhatsApp so we confirm availability and fully charged battery packs.
Where do water sports activities depart from on Ibiza?
Most organized activities depart from sheltered bays and marinas across the island: the port and bay of San Antonio (prime for west-coast tours and sunsets), Playa d’en Bossa (convenient to Ibiza Town), the marina of Santa Eulària, and Cala Bassa beach. Precise meeting points and directions are specified in the activity agenda above and reconfirmed over WhatsApp upon booking.
